The Atlantic Provinces Local Section of the AIHA welcomes a variety of workplace health and safety specialists, including industrial hygienists, safety advisors, marine chemists, as well as people who are simply interested in occupational and environmental health and safety. Most members live in one of the four Atlantic Provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
The primary function of the local section is to provide opportunities for networking and professional development to the industrial hygiene community in the Atlantic Provinces. The local section also supports outreach and education activities to promote occupational health and safety and the industrial hygiene profession. We are one of more than 60 local sections that belong to the American Industrial Hygiene Association, and we share a common mission of promoting workplace health and safety. Our first executive was formed of the following members on April 14, 1989
